Deep in South London, betwixt Borough and the Bricklayers Arms is a gaming mecca: the Bad Moon Cafe<\/a>, a board and wargaming venue for those gamers tired of playing in stuffy attic rooms. No need to send out for food or beer – it’s already on hand.<\/p>\n

Six years old, it mainly caters for Warhammer, 40K, and Magic the Gathering. The cafe also has a large library of board games for hire, as well as games, magazines, paints, figures and kits to buy.<\/p>\n

You can hire a table for the following rates:Book a Tab<\/span><\/p>\n

Board games and card games tables<\/b><\/strong> are bookable for up to 4 hours, for \u00a37 per person \u2013 and gets you access to hundreds of board games in that time. We take a deposit of \u00a37 from the person that books the table, and the rest pay on arrival.<\/p>\n

Large Wargaming Tables<\/b><\/strong> are bespoke 6\u2019x4\u2019 tables with wargaming terrain, \u00a310 per person for just under 4 hours. We take a deposit of \u00a310 from the person that books the table, and the rest pay on arrival.<\/p>\n

Small Wargaming Tables<\/b><\/strong> are suitable for skirmish games such as Kill Team and Warcry, \u00a37 per person for up to 4 hours. We take a deposit of \u00a37 from the person that books the table, and the rest pay on arrival.<\/p>\n

The staff and fellow gamers are friendly. It’s quite a large room inside with over 20 tables to play on. It holds various championships and events on weekends which can get hectic and need to be booked in advance.<\/p>\n

When I am around in the area I usually pop in for a coffee to support the project. There’s free wifi, of course.\u00a0 Tea and coffee, beer, cakes, snacks and pizzas are available on demand, so I can’t imagine going back to someone’s manky room to play a wargame now! So much nicer and more convenient, if a bit noisy now.<\/p>\n
